Book earlier than you think you need to. The farm says spring fills up and asks for April or May. The thing to plan around is washrooms: there are none inside the farm and the nearest is a three-minute walk, which is a long way with a line of four-year-olds.

What the children do

A booked visit for schools, childcare centres and summer camps. All groups of 10 or more must book at least 48 hours ahead by email; the farm recommends booking in April or May because the calendar fills up in spring. Earliest booking time is 10:30 am in spring and fall and 11:00 am in July and August, and groups are welcome to arrive at 10:10 am to watch the goat stampede before their scheduled entry to the petting area.

Walk the gravel farmyard among more than a hundred animals, go into the goat petting area at a booked time, and can watch the goat stampede at 10:10 am or the pigs, donkeys and alpacas being fed between 11:30 and 12:30.

Good to know

No washrooms inside the farm, no indoor shelter if it rains, and gravel paths throughout with no stairs or steep inclines. Handwashing stations are by the entrance and the goat area. Lunch space and coach parking are not addressed anywhere on the site.

Sources disagree. An earlier fetch-only extraction of this venue recorded $6 adult / $5 child. Both the FAQ and the group visits page now read $7 adult / $6 child, and the group visits page calls these 'this year's suggested amounts', so the higher figures are recorded. Flagged in case the older numbers appear in cached copies.

All of the paths inside the farm are gravel, with no steep inclines and no stairs. The site answers the accessibility question with this description rather than a yes or no.

There is a parking lot directly outside the farm, along Circle Drive. The site does not say whether a coach can park or set down there.

The farm sits in the middle of Beacon Hill Park. The nearest public washroom is by the playground, about a 3-minute walk.
Restrictions
Please only come to visit the farm if everyone in your group feels healthy.. Remember to wash your hands before and after visiting with the animals.. Adult supervisors should monitor young children to ensure that they do not put their fingers or any objects in their mouth while in animal areas.. There is a maximum capacity for the goat petting area on busy days; without a booking a group may not be able to enter it.
