A short, free add-on rather than a reason to make the trip on its own, and it lands at noon, which may collide with lunch or naps. Check the schedule before you go: the farm posts it a few weeks at a time and the last date published was September 1.

What the children do

A weekly drop-in talk held Tuesdays at 12:00 pm, featuring a different animal each week. The published schedule ran August 4 (senior animals - donkeys), August 11 (chickens), August 18 (guinea pigs), August 25 (pigs) and September 1 (senior animals - donkeys). No registration is required.

Gather round one kind of animal - donkeys, chickens, guinea pigs or pigs, depending on the week - and hear about it from farm staff.

Good to know

Tuesdays at noon, drop-in, no registration and no fee. Cancelled in rain or strong wind, and the published schedule only runs to September 1.

Sources disagree. An earlier fetch-only extraction of this venue recorded $6 adult / $5 child. Both the FAQ and the group visits page now read $7 adult / $6 child, and the group visits page calls these 'this year's suggested amounts', so the higher figures are recorded. Flagged in case the older numbers appear in cached copies.

There are no public washrooms inside the farm. The closest washroom is near the playground in the park, about a 3 minute walk from the farm. Handwashing stations with soap and water are near the entrance and the goat petting area.

All of the paths inside the farm are gravel, with no steep inclines and no stairs. The site answers the accessibility question with this description rather than a yes or no.
Bus parking
There is a parking lot directly outside the farm, along Circle Drive. The site does not say whether a coach can park or set down there.
Nearby park
The farm sits in the middle of Beacon Hill Park. The nearest public washroom is by the playground, about a 3-minute walk.
Restrictions
Please only come to visit the farm if everyone in your group feels healthy.. Remember to wash your hands before and after visiting with the animals.. Adult supervisors should monitor young children to ensure that they do not put their fingers or any objects in their mouth while in animal areas.. There is a maximum capacity for the goat petting area on busy days; without a booking a group may not be able to enter it.
