Education Cinema group screening
What it actually looks like
What the children do
The Screenings page lists Education Cinema as one of three types of screening and describes it as alternative programming in Classic Literature, Visual Arts, Opera, Ballet and Film. A rail of current films sits below it, with the note that a group may choose any movie, including films not currently showing in theatres. Adding pre-ordered concessions, catering, an in-theatre presentation or a reception needs a minimum of 100 guests or a buyout of the smallest auditorium. The inquiry form asks for a preferred date, a start time of morning, afternoon or evening, and a number of guests of at least 20. After it is sent, the site says a team member will reach out to finalise the booking, and that they aim to reply within 3 business days. No price per student, no age or grade range, no running time and no minimum notice period are published.
Sit in a cinema auditorium and watch one film on a big screen, chosen by the group rather than by whatever happens to be showing that week. On the education side the choice runs to classic literature, visual arts, opera, ballet and film.
Good to know
The whole visit is indoors at a cinema you pick from a list, and an enquiry form is the only way in. No price, no age range, no running time and no notice period are published, and washrooms, lunch space and bus parking are not mentioned at all, so all of that has to be settled with the theatre.
