What it actually looks like
Our note
You meet at the townsite car park rather than at the museum, so build the extra drive into the day. The whole thing is outdoors, so dress the group for rain.
What the children do
A guided outdoor walk of the No. 1 Japanese Townsite about the Japanese Canadian families who lived there. Groups meet at the No. 1 Japanese Townsite parking lot, not at the museum. The museum suggests bringing discs for the disc golf course afterwards, and asks groups to come dressed for the weather.
Walk the old townsite with a guide for about three quarters of an hour, hearing what daily life, friendships and hardships were like for the families who lived there.
Good to know
Outdoors from start to finish, with a car park to meet at. Washrooms, somewhere to eat and a wet weather plan are not mentioned, so worth a call.
