Our note
This is the indoor option written for the youngest grades, so it is the easiest of theirs to sit through. Say the grade you are bringing when you book, because their pages do not agree on how far up it runs.

What the children do

A guided object handling session with the museum's education team. Children investigate everyday items with their senses and connect them to storytelling objects in the collection. The museum's own program page says Grades K to 5 while the school booking form lists this program as Grades K to 3.

Handle everyday objects and use their senses to work out what each one was for, then hear the stories behind the matching pieces in the collection.

Good to know

Indoors and about three quarters of an hour. Washrooms, somewhere to eat and step free access are not stated on the site.

Sources disagree. Their pages give two different top grades for the Junior Historians session. The program page says up to grade 5, the booking form's own list says up to grade 3. If you are bringing a grade 4 or 5 class, say so when you book.
