What it actually looks like

Photos from Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park's website
Our note
This is the one thing at Filberg that is set up for a booked group, but it only runs for about ten weeks in summer and the price is not on the park's own site, so budget by phone before you commit. The farm is not run by the park association, so the number to call is a different one from the lodge office. The season dates on their page also do not quite line up with the festival closure they mention, which is worth pinning down when you call.

What the children do

A seasonal petting farm inside Filberg Park, described on the park's own site but run through the Comox Recreation Centre. Schools, daycares and other groups book a time by phone or email, adults 18 and over come free with a group, and group rates apply. The rates themselves are not on the park's site, which sends visitors to the Town of Comox page for admission prices. Cash, debit and credit cards are accepted on site. The 2026 season ran 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, 7 days per week, from June 8 to August 16, with a stated closure from July 27 for the Filberg Festival.

Walk into the barnyard to meet and talk to the farm animals up close, then stroll the park gardens or the lodge afterwards.

Good to know

Outdoors, with washrooms and picnicking on the grounds nearby, and adults 18 and over free with a group. Price, minimum age, group size and how much notice they need are all unstated, so the booking call has to cover them.

Sources disagree. Their gift shop page gives the days the lodge is open two different ways. One line says Friday to Sunday, another says weekends. If you want the house open when you arrive, check the day with them first.
Sources disagree. One of their pages says there is nowhere indoors to go if it rains. Another says the restaurant in the park has a heated covered patio and some indoor seating. Ask whether a group can sit there in bad weather, because the two answers do not match.
Washrooms
Filberg Park has two sets of washrooms that are available for use. Two are located by the Cutting Garden in the Boathouse, and two are located by the Grape Arbour. All of our washrooms are accessible and have a concrete path leading up to them. There is a changing table in the women's washroom located by the Grape Arbour. The Upper Washrooms will be open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. After 4:00 PM, the Lower Washrooms, located by the beachfront by the Cutting Garden, will remain available for public use.
Lunch space
Meandering the paths and open meadows are perfect for a stroll, a picnic, or quiet contemplation.
Rain backup
Filberg Park has no control over the weather and does not have interior space available for use if it rains. Two 10 x 10 tents can be rented and require notice in advance to ensure that we have staff available to set them up.
