What the children do
Learn to Fish programs for organized groups of all ages and abilities, covering the basics of freshwater fishing including angling ethics, tackle selection, and fishing and casting techniques. All equipment is provided and every session includes hands-on fishing time. Available year-round (limited availability November - February) at the Abbotsford hatchery and seasonally (May - August) at the Clearwater and Fort Steele hatcheries, as well as select off-site lake locations across B.C. Price is published only as "Location-dependent". Booking is by the contact form with 'Group Learn to Fish bookings' selected as the topic; the site notes that submitting the form is not a confirmation of booking.
Choose tackle and set up a rod, practise casting, and fish with equipment the Society provides at a hatchery pond or a lake.
Good to know
Equipment is provided and every session includes fishing time, but no price, group size, age minimum or notice period is published, and the locations are all off Vancouver Island.
