What the children do
Kids join Myki the rainbow trout to discover the adventures fish face on their journey from egg to adult. The site describes the program as hands-on, including an interactive story board, role playing, drawing, a tour of the hatchery and a nature walk to the on-site ponds. Published duration is 1 - 2 hours. Available year-round (limited availability November - February) at the Abbotsford hatchery and from May - August at the Summerland and Fort Steele hatcheries; none of these is on Vancouver Island. The School Field Trips page says "For most programs we can accommodate up to two classes at the same time" without giving a headcount, and that all prices include GST/PST. Booking is by the contact form with 'Field Trip' selected as the topic; the site notes that submitting the form is not a confirmation of booking.
