What it actually looks like

Our note
This is the physical one. Expect three hours of climbing, squeezing and getting wet, so it suits a group that is already used to a long active day. Ask about a private tour if you have anyone between 5 and 8, because that is the only way the site says younger children can come.

What the children do

A private guided trip for school and home learning groups that does Riverbend Cave first, then takes a short hike to Main Cave for more adventurous caving. Main Cave has a narrow standing entrance squeeze, ladders, a three tier waterfall climb with no ropes, and Canada's only cave slide. The site gives the duration as 2.5 to 3 hours. The $35 rate is for verified non profit organisations and only applies Monday to Friday. The same tour is $84 per person at the regular public rate.

Hike a kilometre uphill, then go through two caves in helmets and headlamps. In Main Cave they side-step through a standing squeeze, climb up and down ladders, walk crouched low, scramble up a three tier waterfall and slide down a cave slide.

Good to know

Long, wet and underground, with a hike at either end and no step-free route. Washrooms, indoor lunch space and bus parking are not stated on the site, so ask about all three when you book.

Sources disagree. Two different numbers are given for their visitor centre. The school page lists one and the rest of the site lists another. Try the one on their contact page first and use the other if nobody picks up.
Sources disagree. Their own group pages give two different addresses for confirming your numbers, one starting groups and one starting education. If one bounces, try the other.
Sources disagree. The site gives two youngest ages for the Multi-Cave trip. The tour list says 8 and up, while the groups page says 5 and up. Their questions page explains the difference is a private tour, so say who is coming when you enquire.
