What it actually looks like

Our note
Every child leaves holding something, which makes the bus ride home easier and gives the classroom a follow up for weeks afterwards. Ask what the seedlings need once they are back with you, because a tray of pots is a commitment.

What the children do

A 1.5 hour hands on program for preschool to grade 5 on the plant life cycle, covering seed starting, transplanting and the basics of plant propagation. The site says each student gets to plant seeds and take them home. Program fees include entrance into the gardens, and no dollar amount is published.

Fill and sow their own seed container, practise transplanting a seedling, and carry the planted seeds home at the end.

Good to know

Washrooms are on site and most paths take strollers. The price, the group size limit and the notice they need are not published, so call to pin those down before you commit.
