Museum visit
What it actually looks like
What the children do
A walk in visit during opening hours. The station building holds room sized displays on pioneer life, the mailing room and general store, the mills and the IWA union, local railways, the Second World War, South Asian and Japanese heritage and Ts'uubaa-asatx Nation history, plus a rotating exhibit space. Outside on the grounds are a Shay steam locomotive, a caboose, a passenger car, a logging car and other logging equipment. Opening days change with the season, Tuesday to Friday from September to June and Tuesday to Saturday in July and August.
Walk through the rooms of an old train station looking at model rooms and buildings filled with period objects, photographs and mill and union displays. Then go outside on the grounds to walk around a steam locomotive, a caboose and a logging car loaded with logs.
Good to know
The site gives the address, opening hours, a phone number and an email, and nothing else. Washrooms, somewhere to eat, parking, step free access and price are all unstated, so one call will answer most of it.
