What it actually looks like

Our note
Twelve and over only, six miles of paddling and no easy place to stop halfway, so this is for a group that has kayaked before. The 9am departure gets the calmest water, which matters more than it sounds when there are children in the boats.
What the children do
A three hour guided kayak tour covering six miles, described by the site as an active tour. It leaves the harbour for Victoria's coastline and the nearby islands, and the morning is the calmest time to go because the wind is usually lightest. July through September is pupping season, when there is a chance of seeing female harbour seals with their young. Children 12 years and older. The price is $120.00 per paddler and reservations are required.
Get fitted with a lifejacket and spray skirt on the floating dock, take a safety briefing and a lesson on paddling and steering, then paddle six miles out of the harbour and along the coast, watching for harbour seals hauled out on the rocks.
Good to know
Everything happens on the water with all the gear provided, so there is no indoor space and no rain plan described. They do not mention washrooms of their own, and the site publishes no group rate, no maximum group size and no notice period, so call before you plan a class outing.
Washrooms
The site does not mention washrooms of its own. It says of a neighbour, the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, that public washrooms are available April to October.
