School Field Trip by Appointment
What it actually looks like
What the children do
Museum curators run a planned lesson pitched at the grade level. Half the class starts in the Schoolhouse Museum while the other half tours the Pioneer Museum along the road, then the two halves swap after a snack and a washroom break. The site says each museum takes 30, 45 or 60 minutes depending on the grade. The price is five dollars per student and the visit is booked through an inquiry form.
Sit in the one room schoolhouse and do an appropriate lesson for their grade, write in cursive with a dip pen and ink, spin a button spinner, and hunt for artifacts among the displays.
Good to know
A washroom break and a snack or lunch are built into the visit, and the schoolhouse is fully wheelchair accessible. Bus parking, how many adults have to come and the youngest age they take are not stated, so ask when you book.
