This is the one to ask about for a class. Send them the group size, the ages and the date in one email, and ask about the education rate at the same time, because nothing is priced on the site.

What the children do

For groups larger than 12, Ocean River will arrange a paddling experience with a custom length, custom start time and custom content, and names school groups and summer camps as examples. It can run from the downtown dock or from their Oak Bay location. Prices are not published and depend on group size and length, and they invite you to ask about their education and non-profit rates.

Paddle as a group with guides, on a route and for a length of time worked out with the school in advance.

Good to know

Everything here is arranged by email, including the price and the time on the water. Washrooms, a lunch spot and coach parking near the dock are not covered anywhere on the site, so put those in the same email.

Sources disagree. Two of their pages disagree about whether boat rentals at the downtown dock are running. One says rentals are available from the 1st of May onwards, another says they are closed until spring, and the home page was advertising a discount on rentals. Worth settling on the phone before you plan around a rental.

There is very limited parking at the bottom of Swift Street. City paid parking is available in any spot indicated by a blue ParkVictoria numbered pole. There's a paid lot at the top of Swift Street at 500 Store that's less than a 5 minute walk from the dock.
