What it actually looks like

Our note
Under sixes cannot go at all and there is no toilet on board, so this one is out for a daycare group. For a school class, everyone pays the same $169 whatever their age.

What the children do

A three hour whale and wildlife tour on a 12 passenger open air boat leaving from 950 Wharf Street. Full length cruiser suits are provided and must be worn throughout, and wildlife identification kits are handed out. The price is $169 per person for every age band from 6 upwards, and a $4 wildlife conservation fee is listed as included. Children under 6 and anyone under four feet tall cannot go, and there is no washroom on board, so the site suggests using the ones at the Wharf Street dock first.

Zip into a full length cruiser suit, sit in an open boat for three hours in the wind and spray, and watch for whales with a naturalist on board.

Good to know

Three hours outdoors in an open boat with no washroom on board and a four foot height rule, so the group has to be older children. Parking is pay and display at Wharf Street and there is no group rate published.

Sources disagree. Their semi-covered tour page gives two different places to meet. The tour details point to the Coast hotel marina on Kingston Street, while the small print further down the same page says to check in at 950 Wharf Street. Their questions page says Kingston Street. Worth confirming when you book, because the two docks are a walk apart.
Washrooms
Washrooms are available on all semi-covered vessel tours. Open vessel do not have washroom facilities, so we recommend using the facilities at our Wharf Street location before departure.
