What it actually looks like

Our note
At $1,700 for up to 12 people this only works for a small group, and it still shuts out anyone under 6. The flexible departure time is the one thing that makes it easier to fit around a school day.

What the children do

The whole 12 passenger open air boat booked for one group, with a flexible departure time, for $1,700. The listed price covers 12 people and the booking has to be made by someone aged 19 or over. Everyone on board must be at least 6 years old and four feet tall, cruiser suits are provided, and a naturalist comes along. If the departure time you want is not offered online the site asks you to call the office.

Ride an open boat for three hours in cruiser suits with only their own group aboard, watching for whales while a naturalist points things out.

Good to know

A three hour open boat trip for up to 12 people at a fixed price, with no washroom on board and a four foot height rule. Departure times are flexible, but nothing about supervision ratios or a school rate is published.

Sources disagree. Their semi-covered tour page gives two different places to meet. The tour details point to the Coast hotel marina on Kingston Street, while the small print further down the same page says to check in at 950 Wharf Street. Their questions page says Kingston Street. Worth confirming when you book, because the two docks are a walk apart.
Washrooms
Washrooms are available on all semi-covered vessel tours. Open vessel do not have washroom facilities, so we recommend using the facilities at our Wharf Street location before departure.
