What it actually looks like

Our note
The published age band starts at five, so this is not written for a preschool room. Nothing anywhere says how long a session runs, which is the first thing to ask. There is no phone number or email for it either, so twenty children turning up unannounced against a cap of twenty five is a gamble.

What the children do

A free children's programme run by Discover Parks Ambassadors, meeting at the Nature House. Discover Parks describes it as designed for kids aged 5 to 12 and says it teaches the importance of conservation, responsible recreation, Indigenous culture and outdoor safety in BC's parks. It ran at 14:00 every day except Wednesday through the summer season, June 13 to August 23, capped at 25 people, with walk-ins welcome and nothing to book. Dogs are not allowed. Nothing is published about how long a session lasts or what the children handle or make.

Good to know

It meets at the Nature House, reached on foot by trail from car park one, from the campground or from the beach. The park has toilets, drinking water, picnic areas and picnic shelters. Nothing says whether it moves under cover if it rains.

Sources disagree. Their own pages disagree about whether anything happens here. One says the nature house is shut until the summer of 2027. Their list of park programmes marks the free walks and children's sessions as finished, while the page for those same sessions says open and describes them meeting at that building. Worth settling with a phone call before you plan a trip out here.
Washrooms
The park's facility list includes drinking water, a playground, picnic areas, picnic shelters and pit or flush toilets.
Lunch space
The park also has a large day-use and picnicking area. Nothing says whether a group may use the Nature House itself.
