Exploring Identity Learning Lab
What it actually looks like
What the children do
A 60 minute guided Learning Lab for grades 4 to 10 in the Old Town gallery and the Hayashi Photography Studio exhibit. The class splits in two, with one group looking closely at historical photographs and reflecting on identity while the other uses storytelling to learn about Japanese Canadian experiences in BC, then the groups swap. Runs September to May on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Stand and look closely at historical photographs in the gallery and talk about what they show, then move to a storytelling activity about Japanese Canadian families in BC, and swap with the other half of the class.
Good to know
Indoors and step free, washrooms on every floor, indoor lunch space and picnic tables outside. Nothing is published about quiet or sensory friendly timings.
