What it actually looks like
Our note
Very close in content to Marine Mammal Stewards, which is the same material pitched at grades 6 to 8, so pick by the age of your class rather than the title. Ask whether it includes gallery time when you book.
What the children do
A facilitated program for grades 3 to 5 taking an in depth look at how endangered Southern resident killer whales, people and the environment are connected. Students explore killer whale biology, behaviour and conservation through hands-on activities involving echolocation, photo-identification and communication.
Work through hands-on activities with the educator on how killer whales communicate and find food, and identify individual whales from photographs of their markings.
Good to know
