What it actually looks like

Our note
This happens in the Big House rather than inside the centre, so treat it as a second stop and not part of a museum visit. Nothing is published about the price, the start time or how long it lasts, so ask when you buy tickets. It runs in July and August only, which puts it outside most school terms.
What the children do
Traditional Kwakwaka'wakw dances performed by the Tʼsasała Dance Group throughout July and August at the ʼNa̱mg̱is Big House, on Saturday afternoons. The performers are local children and youth. Tickets are available at U'mista. The ticket price, the start time and how long a performance runs are not published, and the Big House is a separate building from the Cultural Centre.
Watch local children and youth perform traditional Kwakwaka'wakw songs and dances in the ʼNa̱mg̱is Big House, including the Hamatʼsa, which the group describes as the most important of their sacred dances.
Good to know
The season, the day and the place are published, and tickets are sold at the centre. The price, the start time and how long it runs are not, so ask before you plan around it.
Sources disagree. Their own pages give two different answers for the opening days. The contact page says Monday to Friday, and a post about the current exhibit says 7 days a week. The weekend matters here because the Saturday tour and the summer dance performances both fall outside weekday hours, so settle it when you book.
