What it actually looks like

Our note
This is the one thing their site actually anchors to the Duncan hatchery, and it is gear collection rather than a visit. You have to ring or write ahead to arrange it. No fishing pond is listed at this hatchery, so where you take the children to fish afterwards is up to you.
What the children do
The Society lends spinning rods with reels and a basic box of tackle at no cost, from a list of locations that includes the Vancouver Island Trout Hatchery at 1080 Wharncliffe Road in Duncan. The Duncan listing says to contact them in advance to coordinate. The program is supported by Luhr Jensen. Nothing is published about how many rods a group may borrow, for how long, whether a deposit is needed, or whether there is any age limit.
Good to know
Rods and a basic box of tackle are lent free from the Duncan hatchery by prior arrangement. How many rods, how long you can keep them, deposits and any age limit are not published, and no fishing pond is listed here.
